Alex Douglas earned his Juris Doctor degree from The Florida State University College of Law, where he graduated with honors in 1989. While there, he was a member and president of the F.S.U. law school moot court team and competed in national moot court competitions. He also served as an extern to then Justice Rosemary Barkett of the Florida Supreme Court.
Alex holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Alex is admitted to the Florida Bar and is also admitted to practice in federal court before the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, the Southern District of Florida, and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
He is a member of the Orange County Bar Association, and Co-Chair of the Estates, Trusts & Guardianship Committee. Alex handles a wide variety of business litigation matters, probate and trust litigation, fiduciary litigation, and contested guardianship cases. Alex enjoys lecturing on probate and trust litigation topics, and is rated by Martindale-Hubbell as an “AV” Attorney, the highest rating.
Alex has also been named a “Super Lawyer” by Thomas Reuters, a selection process that rates attorneys based upon a comprehensive three part review process and is limited to no more than 5% of Florida’s attorneys. Alex and his wife, Maureen, live in Maitland, and are members of All Saints Episcopal Church of Winter Park.
They have two sons, AJ and Avery, and one daughter, Grace. Alex’s interests include boating and camping with family. He also participates in Boy Scouts with his sons and is the Troop Committee Chairman and leads a Dommerich Elementary camping group for fathers and daughters.
