Allyson Smith is a native Hoosier. She relocated to the Tampa Bay area to attend the University of South Florida where she graduated from the College of Arts and Sciences and Honors College with a degree in Political Science, cum laude. She attended law school at Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, Florida where she attained a dual degree of Juris Doctor and Masters in Business Administration.
During law school, she was a Certified Legal Intern with the Office of the State Attorney, 6th Judicial Circuit and interned with Magistrate Judge Pizzo in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Tampa Division. Ms. Smith has practiced in the area of Real Property Law since her admittance to the Florida Bar and is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida and Southern District of Florida.
Prior to joining Hancock Law Firm, Ms. Smith worked for two large real estate firms. She handled all aspects of foreclosure litigation from complaint through appeal. Her practice was very client focused where she continually sought to achieve the best outcome for her client whether that be through litigation or negotiation.
Most recently, Ms. Smith created and fronted an appellate department where she continued to diligently represent her client through the hurdles of the appeal process. Ms. Smith is now a proud member of the St. Petersburg Police Department where she serves as Assistant Legal Advisor. She is primarly responsible for asset forfeitures.
Ms. Smith is an active member of the Pinellas County Bar Association and Barney Masterson Inn of Court. In her spare time, Ms. Smith is an avid sports fan and season ticket holder for the University of South Florida football games. She can often be found tailgating at the stadium during football season.
She enjoys jogging, exploring her new hometown of St. Petersburg, playing trivia at Ferg’s, and trying new restaurants and breweries.
