About Andrew VanLeer Cobbe

Mr Cobbe is a partner with the firm whose areas of practice are business and construction law, representing owners, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and materialmen in all phases of business and construction matters including liens, contract negotiation and disputes, construction defect litigation, and transactional matters.

Mr Cobbe represents clients in both Florida and Federal courts having tried cases to verdict in both, as well as in arbitration and other alternative dispute resolution proceedings. Mr Cobbe holds both Certified General Contractor and Certified Roofing Contractor licenses in the state of Florida (current/inactive status) which enables him to relate to and understand the issues facing clients in the construction industry.

Prior to entering the legal field Mr Cobbe spent nearly a decade in the construction industry, working as a carpenter, then estimator, spending time as both a superintendent and project manager, ultimately serving as vice-president and primary qualifier for a general contracting and development firm.

A Florida native, Mr Cobbe received his Juris Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad Law center, and his Bachelor of Science in Applied Economics from the Florida State University. Prior to joining The Soto Law Group Andrew was an associate with a boutique construction law firm in Fort Lauderdale.

Currently Mr Cobbe is an adjunct professor teaching Construction Law in the Building Construction Technology Department at Broward College.
