Carol M. Rooney is a Partner at Butler Pappas. Carol practices complex civil litigation with an emphasis on the litigation and arbitration of construction defect cases, commercial disputes and appeals in federal and state courts. Carol has practiced with Butler Pappas since 1998. She is a member of The Florida Bar and is admitted to practice in all state courts in Florida as well as the United States District Courts for the Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Florida and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, Eighth Circuit and the Second Circuit.
She is a member of the American Bar Association, the Hillsborough Bar Association and the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance. Carol has authored articles on a variety of topics in multiple publications including: Consequential Damages Under the Insurance Contract - The New "Bad Faith"?, Mealey's Litigation Report, June 2008; Florida's Supreme Court Finally Brings Clarity to the Economic Loss Rule, NASP Subrogator, Spring/Summer 2005; Recent Developments in Property Insurance Coverage Litigation, ABA Tort Trial & Ins.

Carol is a graduate of the University of South Florida and Stetson University College of Law. At Stetson, she served as a federal judicial intern to the Honorable Elizabeth Kovachevich, Chief Judge of the Middle District of Florida, and was a Quarter-Finalist in the Maguire, Voorhis and Wells Intramural Moot Court Competition as a first-year student.
Prior to joining Butler Pappas, Carol was a Staff Attorney to the judiciary of the Ninth Judicial Circuit for Orange and Osceola Counties, Florida.
