Chesley (“Chet”) G. Moody, Jr. was born in Gainesville, Florida, in 1975. He graduated from P.K. Yonge High School in 1994. He attended the University of Florida and graduated, with honors, from the College of Business Administration, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management in 1998. In 2001, he graduated from the University of Florida, College of Law with a Juris Doctor.
In law school, Mr Moody sat as the University of Florida, College of Law’s student representative in the Gainesville area chapter of the Federal Bar Association and served as an extern for the Honorable Jerry Funk and the Honorable George Proctor in the United States Bankruptcy Courts, Jacksonville Division.
In 2002, Mr Moody was admitted to practice before the State Courts of Florida. In 2004, he was admitted to practice before the United States Federal District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and he has also been specially admitted to practice in Louisiana. In 2009, Mr Moody received recognition for his outstanding pro bono service from the Orange County Bar Association.
Mr Moody was named in Florida Super Lawyers’ Rising Stars list in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015. The Rising Stars list is published annually in The Wall Street Journal , recognizing the top young attorneys in Florida as selected by peer recognition and professional achievement. Mr Moody is Board Certified by The Florida Bar in the area of Construction Law.
