About Christian George
Christian George is a partner in the Litigation Practice Group at Akerman LLP. His practice concentrates in the areas of commercial litigation and bankruptcy. Christian represents both business and individual clients in disputes involving contracts, negotiable instruments and tort actions. His experience includes the handling of suits involving fraud, breach of various types of contracts, tortious interference, breach of fiduciary duty, civil theft, professional malpractice, eviction, conversion, breach of warranty, as well as other issues. Christian also has extensive experience representing financial institutions and other commercial lenders in all areas of commercial litigation and bankruptcy. Christian's bankruptcy experience includes the representation of secured and unsecured creditors, landlords, vendors, asset purchasers, post-petition lenders, and creditors' committees in bankruptcy cases in courts around the United States. He also has experience representing lender clients in out-of-court restructurings, receiverships, and real and personal property foreclosures, including asset sales under the Uniform Commercial Code. Christian is an active member of The Florida Bar, where he currently serves on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of the Young Lawyers' Division, and the Jacksonville Bar Association ("JBA"), where he currently serves as President-Elect and as a member of the Board of Governors of the Young Lawyers' Section. Christian also currently serves as Chairman of the JBA's Professionalism Committee and is active with several local civic and charitable organizations. In 2014, Christian was named as one of Jacksonville's "40 under 40", which identifies leaders in Jacksonville's business community. Christian has also been selected as a Florida Super Lawyer "Rising Star" and a Florida Trend Legal Elite "Up and Comer" for the last several years.
