About Christopher John Nicholas

Christopher J. Nicholas is a Partner at Butler Pappas. Chris received his Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University in 1984 where he held offices in several honor societies and honor fraternities including Pi Sigma Alpha and Pi Gamma Mu. In 1988, Chris graduated from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University.

During law school, Chris served as President for the Phi Alpha Delta Legal Fraternity and was honored with the distinction of being named to Who's Who Among American Law Students. Chris was certified as a public mediator in 1987 by the Neighborhood Justice Center of Atlanta. Chris has been a member in good standing of The Florida Bar since 1988.

He is admitted to federal practice in the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. He is a member of the Leon County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, and the Florida Defense Lawyers Association.

At present, Chris concentrates his practice in the following areas: automobile negligence (third party, PIP, and UM/UIM), complex coverage matters (first and third party), negligent security, nursing home defense, professional liability defense (administrative and medical malpractice defense), products liability, premises liability and wrongful death cases.

 He has tried cases throughout the state of Florida including Alachua, Hendry, Hillsborough, Lee, Marion, Okaloosa, Osceola, Orange, Pasco, Pinellas and Sarasota Counties and has argued before Florida's District Court of Appeals and the Florida Supreme Court.  Chris has served as a Trial Team Coach for Florida State University College of Law's National Trial Team and as a Master Lawyer with the William H.

Stafford American Inns of Court.  He is rated "AV" by Martindale-Hubbell (demonstrating very high to preeminent legal abilities and very high ethical standards).
