I was born and raised in Pensacola, Florida. I graduated from Florida State University, cum laude, with a Bachelor of Science in Social Work. I later earned my Master of Social Work degree from Florida State in 2003. I earned my law degree from Florida State, magna cum laude, in December 2007 and am a member of the Order of the Coif.
I am a member of the Florida Bar and a managing partner Fasig Brooks Law Offices. I have a varied legal background with experience in civil litigation, family law, criminal law, and law office administration. For over 14 years, I worked as a litigation paralegal, specializing in the area of medical malpractice.
After obtaining my M.S.W., I worked as a mental health counselor. I later became a Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediator and settled several marital and custody disputes. My background in the mental health field has strengthened my desire to help at-risk persons and those who are most in need of an effective legal advocate.
I understand what it means to be the “little person” going up against big business and insurance companies. I’ve learned that when people hire a lawyer, it’s not a fight they want. They just want it to be over. They want to know that I’m taking care of it. There is no such thing as a peaceful lawsuit, but I give my clients the next best thing: the best and fastest resolution possible with the least amount of intrusion into their lives.
I represent people of all ages and walks of life. Each client’s situation is unique, but every person who comes to me needs help and feels vulnerable. My clients know that I respect and appreciate their worries.
