About David Eric Wells

Emily R. Stone represents Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 Debtors as well as creditors in Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 cases in all aspects of insolvency proceedings and bankruptcy-related litigation. Ms. Stone also represents clients in general commercial litigation matters. She has significant experience defending targets in bankruptcy clawback litigation, such as fraudulent transfer and preference actions.

She has also tried cases in bankruptcy court, obtaining verdicts in favor of her clients, representing clients through the appellate process if needed. In addition to working in the insolvency arena, Ms. Stone also has a wealth of familiarity with non-profit corporate law, asset protection, and charitable gift planning having worked previously as associate in-house counsel for a large faith-based non-profit in South Florida.

Ms. Stone is an active volunteer attorney with Miami Dade Legal Aid’s Put Something Back, providing pro bono assistance to clients in the community. She is proud Wolverine, having received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan, where she was a competing member of the university’s equestrian team and an active member of Alpha Gamma Delta.

She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Miami School Law where she was editor of the Business Law Review and has been published in the American Bankruptcy Institute Journal. Ms. Stone is licensed to practice law in Florida and Michigan. She is a member of the Bankruptcy Bar Association, Southern District of Florida.

She is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, as well as the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida.
