About Dennis Michael Morgenstern

I come from a military background (having graduated from West Point and serving, as an officer on active duty (for 6 years) and in the Army Reserves (for 15 years),  I have a technical background, given my engineering-heavy education at West Point.  After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, I started practicing defense personal injury work.

  After approximately 2 years, I was hired by one of our lawfirm's largest clients (Joy Manufacturing Company, one of the world's leading manufacturers of underground coal mining equipment) to work in house in its litigation department.  After a couple years in that in house position, I joined a plaintiff's personal injury lawfirm in Pittsburgh, Evans, Ivory, P.

C., where I quickly was given my own stable of cases and made partner.  After 11 years at Evans, Ivory, I got the urge to move south.  In September of 1998, I joined Peter Brudney practicing plaintiff's PI law.  After nearly 2 years with Peter, I left to open my own plaintiff's PI firm.  I practiced as a sole PI practitioner until September of 2006 when Betsey Herd decided to attempt joining our practices.

  After several months, we decided to become equal shareholders in our current firm - Morgenstern & Herd, P.A.  Given Betsey's strong medical background (Masters in Cardiac Physiology) and my technical background, we handle & try all types of plaintiff's PI cases, to include med mal, auto/motorcycle/trucking cases, defective products, Admiralty & FELA cases.
