Elisabeth Hagood has over two decades of diverse litigation experience. Previously as an assistant state attorney in the Ninth Judicial circuit she prosecuted crimes ranging from misdemeanor, traffic, felony, and homicide in orange county. Ms. Hagood left the state attorneys office in 1997 to pursue private practice with a special emphasis on criminal trials.
Ms. Hagood returned to the state in 2001 and practiced in the Ninth Judicial Circuit as an assistant public defender representing indigent clients charged with all levels of criminal offenses. In 2006 she left the public sector to pursue private practice litigation focusing on complex state and federal criminal defense trials.
In November 2014 Ms. Hagood accepted a senior attorney position representing the Department of children and families in Alachua, Dixie and Levy counties. After leaving DCF, Ms. Hagood has practiced a wide range of litigation, focusing on guardianship abuse and complex construction litigation. Ms. Hagood is a lifelong resident of Central Florida and graduated from Rollins college in Winter Park, obtained her Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida College of Law in Gainesville.
A member of the Florida Bar Association, the Orange County Bar Association and the United States District Court in the Middle District of Florida. Ms. Hagood is a proud mother of three sons and one daughter. In her free time she is an avid Equestrian and is actively involved with feral cat rescue and volunteers for several animal rescue organizations.
