He has been interviewed, as early as November 2009, with regard to the dangers these contraceptives posed, and emerging scientific publications have recognized that DRSP (DROSPIRENONE) birth control pills pose a 2x-3x risk of venous thromboemoblism (VTE), blood clots, pulmonary emboli (PE) and/or deep vein thrombosis (DVT), in comparison to other forms of birth control.

On October 27, 2011, the Food & Drug Administration confirmed DRSP (DROSPIRENONE) birth control pills present a significantly higher risk of VTE, PE, DVT, to users than other hormonal contraceptives.
