About H. Stratton Smith III

Stratton Smith, JD, LLM (tax) has been practicing since 1982 in estate planning, family, business and wealth advising. Before becoming an attorney, Stratton was an accomplished financial planner,and developed an intense interest in estate in business planning. As of November 1, 2015, Stratton celebrates 31 years in his own law firm, located in the Hyde Park section of Tampa.

He is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale, a national service providing qualitative information on attorneys. As of January, 2015, he has partnered with attorney David Toback in Stratton-David Law, LLP. Stratton is a frequent speaker both to the public and in seminars for professionals regarding matters of business succession planning, estate, tax and asset protection planning matters.

He is active in the Business Transition Counsel, and other groups which share knowledge and resources with one another. He and his wife, Susan, not only work together, but are active cyclists and adventurers. Stratton is admitted to practice in Florida and before the United States Tax Court.
