Often times I am asked: How can you do what you do? How can you defend those who have been accused of crimes and do so with a clean conscience? For me, the answer is simple: The legal system is tough. It is tough to understand, tough to navigate; and tough to deal with when you find yourself accused of a crime.
The legal system can be very intimidating; especially true for most of the people who have never been arrested before or involved in the legal system. I understand how to fight for the rights of those individuals and help them navigate the legal system. I believe in my community. I was born and raised right here in Tampa, Florida.
I went to Jesuit High School; and probably crossed paths with many of you during school years. When someone comes into my office asking for help, I don’t see a client; I see a friend asking for help. It is because of this bond, between my client and I, that allows me to take their case(s) personally and fight furiously for them.
I provide every client with the best possible representation to get to the best possible outcome for their case. My ultimate goal is to accommodate each and every client; doing whatever I can to make their situation better. I believe in second chances. Many think that the legal system is perfect and that every “defendant” accused of a crime is guilty.
Many people feel that every guilty verdict is deserved. There is stigma that most think once someone has been convicted of a crime, that they will always be a criminal and can never change to be a productive member of society. That is not my thought. That is not the truth. Many hardworking and honest people have found themselves on the wrong end of accusations; allegations; and a verdict.
It is a tragedy when innocent people are accused of crimes; sentenced to prison/jail or placed on probation unjustly. Misunderstandings and false accusations can and do happen. It is my job to assure these misunderstandings are corrected.
