About James Vincent Caltagirone

James Caltagirone is the founder of James V. Caltagirone, P.A. and focuses his practice in the area of personal injury. He started his law firm in 1974 and has been a member of the Tampa community for over 40 years . James began his legal career at the State Attorney's Office as an Assistant State Attorney where he gained extensive felony trial experience.

After his work with the State, James decided to open his own law firm with a focus on criminal law. After 20 years of practicing criminal law, he expanded his practice to include the area of personal injury law, where he has handled hundreds of cases covering issues ranging from slip-and-fall to wrongful death.

​ James received his Bachelor's degree from Belmont Abbey College in 1963.  While at Belmont Abbey, he was selected to appear in the 1962-1963 Edition of Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. James entered the United States Air Force in 1964 and was honorably discharged in 1968 with the rank of Captain.

He received his Juris Doctor from Stetson University in 1971. Mr Caltagirone is licensed to practice law in Florida and has been a member of the Florida Bar since 1971. In addition, he is admitted to the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida.
