About Jason William Hill

Jason W. Hill is a partner in Shutts & Bowen’s Construction Litigation Practice Group in Orlando, Florida Bar Board Certified in Construction Law, and has been practicing law for more than ten years. Mr Hill represents general contractors, subcontractors, and material and equipment suppliers in all phases of public and private construction contracting and dispute resolution, including: licensing and other regulatory-compliance; bid protests; contract drafting and negotiation; claims notice and preservation; and litigation and arbitration involving claims of defective design and construction, delay and interference, lien and bond claims, and insurance coverage disputes.

Prior to attending law school, Mr Hill worked in government relations in Washington D.C. While at William & Mary Law School, he participated in the school’s National Trial Team, served on its Bill of Rights Journal, and earned a highest grade award in Civil Procedure. Representative Litigation and Arbitration lien and bond claims for numerous electrical, plumbing, and concrete suppliers, and other material and equipment suppliers; steel erector’s claims against general contractor for unpaid balance of subcontract and change orders on hotel renovation project; underground utility contractor claims against city for unpaid extras; highway contractor claims against engineer for professional negligence; defense of luxury homebuilder in class-action suit by homeowners; insurance claims on behalf of property owners; bid protest for roofing contractor on county-wide roof repair contract; two-week jury trial of project owner’s claims against contractor for delay damages and repair costs; and three-week arbitration of prime contractor’s completion cost claims against defaulting subcontractor on hospital project.
