Mr Wasserman heads the firm's Family Law practice group. His practice also includes corporate, commercial and probate litigation. Mr Wasserman was a partner in Muchnick, Wasserman, et al. before Mr Muchnick became semi-retired in January 2003, at which time Mr Wasserman joined the firm. Mr Wasserman is an "AV" rated attorney by Martindale Hubbell -- the highest possible rating.
He has been repeatedly rated as a "Top Lawyer" in the South Florida Legal Guide and as a "Super Lawyer" in the Florida Super Lawyers magazine. Mr Wasserman has served on many Bar committees since chairing the Bicentennial Committee for the Florida Bar in 1976. He currently serves on the Florida Bar Family Law Rules Committee, and in June 2005 he retired as Chair of Council of Sections of the Florida Bar.
Also, he is a former Chair of the Florida Supreme Court's Family Law Forms Workgroup, having been asked to so serve by Florida Supreme Court Justice Peggy A. Quince. He is a past chairperson of the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar. He is a past president of both the Broward County Bar Association and the South Broward Bar Association.
He has served as Chair of the Florida Bar Family Law Rules Committee and has served as a member of the Florida Bar Civil Procedure Rules Committee. Mr Wasserman has also chaired the Family Law Section Rules Committee, Legislative Committee, and Child Support Ad Hoc Committee. Previously Mr Wasserman served on the Family Law Section Executive Council and served two terms on the Florida Bar Grievance Committee.
He has lectured extensively on a variety of family law issues for the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar and the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers. In September 2010, Mr Wasserman spoke about the Hague Convention at the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers in Queenstown, New Zealand. He is admitted to practice before all courts in the State of Florida.
In addition to the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh and Fifth Circuits, and the United States District Court, Southern and Middle Districts of Florida. Born in Connecticut, Mr Wasserman served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1970 and was honorably discharged.
Mr Wasserman earned both his Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor from the University of Miami.
