I was born in Georgia, but raised in Florida- so nowhere but the South feels like home to me. I've lived most of my life in North Florida and I've raised my 19 year old daughter here. I obtained my Bachelor's degree in English, with Honors, at the University of Florida in 2000 and my law degree at the University of Florida in 2004.
I received the Book Award in Appellate Advocacy, was a member of the Journal of Law and Public Policy, and formed an organization at the law school to help network other law students who had children. In my final year of law school, I was an intern at the Office of the State Attorney in Gainesville and worked primarily on domestic violence and traffic cases, including the largest child abuse case ever tried in the State of Florida.
After I graduated, I was hired by the Office of the State Attorney, where I prosecuted misdemeanor and traffic cases for another year. In 2005 I was hired at the law firm of Avera & Smith in Gainesville, where I worked until February of 2016. Now I have the pleasure of working at Robinson, Kennon & Kendron in Lake City, where we handle a wide variety of cases.
My current focus is in the areas of personal injury, workers' compensation, wrongful death, nursing home negligence and medical malpractice. I have been hard-working since I was fifteen years old and also put myself through college. I believe that my background enables me to relate to just about everyone who comes through my door.
I am patient, I listen and I am honest. When you call me, I call you back. When you have a question or concern, I address it with straightforward answers. If I am going to settle your case, before you agree to anything, you know exactly what you're getting in your pocket. There are no surprises.
For hobbies, I love camping, kayaking, driving my motorcycle, working on my 1964 Mustang, cooking, painting, and playing pool.
