Jennifer L. Sweeting focuses her practice in the areas of Marital and Family Law, Will, Probate, and Guardianship. She is certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Family Law Mediator; and has completed the state required training to serve as a Qualified Parenting Coordinator. She is a member of the Florida Bar Association, the Tallahassee Bar Association, and the American Bar Association, and is often appointed by area judges as a Guardian Ad Litem in Leon and adjacent counties.
Jennifer was born in Lakewood, New Jersey and relocated to South Florida as a young child. She moved to Tallahassee in 1996 in order to obtain an undergraduate degree from Florida State University. She graduated, magna cum laude, from FSU in 2000 with duel degrees in English Literature and Legal Communication.
Jennifer received her Juris Doctorate from Florida State University College of Law in 2003, and was admitted to the Florida Bar the same year. During law school, Jennifer was a member of the Phi Delta Phi legal honors fraternity, and received the “Book Award” (highest grade in her class) in Alternative Dispute Resolution for her writings on mediation and domestic violence.
She worked as a Supreme Court Certified Legal Intern at the Children's Advocacy Center, a non-profit organization representing victims of domestic violence in all matters of Marital and Family Law. Jennifer currently resides in Tallahassee, Florida with her husband and two young daughters. When not practicing law, she enjoys her involvement with the DeSoto Trail Elementary PTO and Boosters; spending time with her family; and travelling.
She is an avid reader, of all genres.
