About Jessenia J Concepcion

The firm’s founder Jessenia Concepcion was born and raised in Miami, Florida, and is a proud first generation Cuban-American. While perusing her Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and International Relations from Florida International University, Ms. Concepcion was named to the Dean’s List for excellent academic performance.

Ms. Concepcion attended the highly ranked Rutgers Law School where she served as an Executive Editor for The Rutgers Law Journal, and was on the board of editors overseeing the school’s main law review. Additionally, her law review article: “Why Separate is Not Equal in Connecticut,” analyzing the Connecticut Supreme Court’s decision regarding marriage equality, was published in the Rutgers Law Journal.

Ms. Concepcion was also a member of the civil practice clinic’s immigration project, where she assisted low-income individuals and families with a number of immigration related issues including post-detention representation. It was in this law clinic where Ms. Concepcion found her passion for immigration law.

After law school, Ms. Concepcion served in a prestigious and highly coveted position as law clerk to the Honorable Gerald J. Council, Presiding Judge for New Jersey Superior Court of Mercer County, as well as the Honorable Mitchel E. Ostrer, now assigned to the Appellate Division. During her tenure with the Superior Court, Ms.

Concepcion acted as a mediator and assisted individuals in resolving small claims and landlord-tenant disputes. Ms. Concepcion has dedicated her professional career to representing clients in a range of immigration areas. She assists clients in obtaining residency pursuant to employment and family-based petitions, as well as helping families reunite by navigating the immigrant visa process with US Consulates around the world.

Ms. Concepcion also represents individuals in immigration court for cases ranging from asylum to cancelation of removal and motions to reopen. Ms. Concepcion has also been successful in obtaining deferred action and acts of prosecutorial discretion before Immigration and Customs Enforcement, as well as waivers for grounds of inadmissibility or deportability before relevant government agencies.
