John M. Ervin is an attorney at Aegis Law, a dynamic business law firm with offices throughout the United States.  John works in the Tampa office as part of the corporate practice group team. John has large firm experience.  Prior to forming The John Ervin Law Firm, P.A.  John handled a wide variety of large complex transactions as a member of the Corporate Group at Shutts & Bowen, LLP, one of Florida's largest and prestigious law firms.

John’s practice focuses on corporate, regulatory and transactional matters for businesses, real estate developers, charitable organizations and financial institutions. He regularly advises clients regardingmergers and acquisitions, entity formation and business structures, commercial transactions, secured transactions, commercial real estate, commercial leasing, corporate finance, securities, corporate taxation, state and local tax issues and audits and charitable organizations.

A licensed Merchant Marine Officer, John holds a 100 Gross Ton Master Captain’s license with the United States Coast Guard.  He regularly advises clients regarding the acquisition and registration of domestic and foreign flagged vessels. John also dedicates his time and skill to giving back to the greater community.

John is an active member of the community and devotes his time to serving various local charitable and civic organizations.  He currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Sarasota Downtown Farmer's Market. John is an active member of Hillsborough County Young Lawyers Division as well as the Young Lawyers Division of The Florida Bar.
