About Karim Batista

I was born in Boston, Massachusetts, but grew up in the Dominican Republic. After moving to Florida in 1999, I attended Christopher Columbus High School in Miami, Florida. I enrolled at Florida State University. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2007 and Bachelor of Arts degree in 2009.

I received my Juris Doctorate from Florida International University in 2013. I was admitted to the Florida Bar in the same year. During law school, I participated in the Famiy & Education Clinic, Immigration & Human Rights Clinic, and did two internships at the Office of the State Attorney for the 11th Judicial Circuit.

Additionally, throughout my time in law school, I achieved the Dean's list continously throughout my time in law school. In February 2014, I opened my own practice where I focus predominately in the area of family law and the effects of criminal convictions and immigration status have on family cases.

My office handles cases throughout South Florida, including Miami-Dade, Broward, and West Palm Beach. I am currenly very active with the FSU Miami Alumni Associatio, FIU Law Alumni Association, the Cuban American Bar Association, and the Hispanic Bar Association.
