About Laura Ann Turbe

Laura A. Turbe-Capaz is a Senior Associate at Butler Pappas. Laura practices primarily in the areas of third-party liability, coverage, and extracontractual claims. Prior to joining the Firm in 2007, Laura served as a judicial staff attorney for the Second District Court of Appeal in Lakeland, Florida, which allowed her the opportunity to gain appellate experience as well as significant knowledge regarding the inner workings of the judiciary.

Laura received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Florida in 2001, and Doctor of Jurisprudence, cum laude , from Stetson University College of Law in 2004. While attending law school, Laura served as an Articles and Symposia Editor for the Stetson Law Review and authored Florida's Inconsistent Use of the Best Interests of the Child Standard, 33 Stetson L.

Rev. 369 (2003). Subsequent to publication of the Comment, Laura became the recipient of the Elizabeth M. Leeman Award for authoring the best student work published in the Stetson Law Review during 2003-2004. In addition, Laura served as a federal judicial intern to the Honorable Mark Pizzo of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.

Laura is a member of The Florida Bar and the Hillsborough County Bar Association. In 2009 and 2010, Laura was recognized as a "Rising Star" by Florida Super Lawyers.
