Lauren A. Levy, Esq. is a graduate of the University of Florida Levin College of Law and a member of the Florida Bar. She is the newest addition to Becker & Associates, P.A. Lauren is a “double Gator,” having previously graduated from the University of Florida (UF) in 2011 with two Bachelor’s degrees — a B.
S. in journalism and a B.A. in Jewish studies. Before entering law school, Lauren worked in Washington, D.C. for three terms as a political intern at several social and political advocacy think-tanks before venturing into the Midwest to lend her passion and talents to a hotly contested congressional campaign.
Back in her hometown of Miami, Florida, she also successfully spearheaded the social media marketing for an online magazine dedicated to issues that inevitably make it into family court. During law school, Lauren worked as a law clerk at Southern Legal Counsel, an intern at the Office of the State Attorney’s Eighth Judicial Circuit, and also as an extern for the Hon.
Susan Miller-Jones. Additionally, Lauren displayed great leadership talent as the president of the Association for Public Interest Law and the Jewish Law Student Association. Further, Lauren also served as an articles editor for the Florida Journal of International Law and the Journal of Law and Public Policy, and well as a research assistant for UF Law Professor Jonathan R.
Cohen. Lauren has a heart for advocacy and has participated in numerous pro bono and community projects on behalf of marginalized groups. Lauren comes from a diverse, multicultural background extending from Jamaica and the Caribbean to the Middle East and the U.K. She has traveled throughout the Caribbean, and considers the summer she spent in Israel and Jordan to be one of her defining life moments.
Lauren is proficient in intermediate Spanish and Hebrew, and is also an accomplished writer. Several of her articles have been featured on The Huffington Post and The Times of Israel. She has overcome her share of personal and professional challenges, which has empowered her to help others in their time of struggle.
She brings to the table a global perspective, drive, and passion for immigrant and civil rights, and is a true warrior for justice.
