I am Board Certified as an expert in Civil Trial Law by the Florida Bar.  Not all lawyers are Board Certified.  Board certification evaluates attorneys’ special knowledge, skills, and proficiency in various areas of law and professionalism and ethics in practice.  Board certified lawyers are Evaluated for Professionalism, and Tested for Expertise .

I am bilingual and I have extensive litigation and trial experience in both state and federal court.  I graduated from Florida International University and Drake University Law School, where I was a Patricia Roberts Harris Fellow. I completed a program in negotiation and dispute resolution at the Harvard Law School Program on Negotiation.

 I began my  legal career as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Florida in Tallahassee.  I then worked for ten years as an Assistant Attorney General in Washington, D.C., where my areas of practice included premises liability, motor vehicle tort actions including cases involving wrongful death, and constitutional claims including police civil rights litigation.

 I have significant experience in alternative means of dispute resolution, and I am a Florida Certified Circuit Civil Mediator.
