About Martin Lance Holden

Lance Holden was born in Gainesville, Florida. He graduated from Winter Haven High School and Polk Community College in 1978. He then graduated with high honors from the University of Florida in 1980 with a BSBA. He then received his Juris Doctorate with honors from the University of Florida College of Law in 1983.

Lance is admitted to practice law in the State of Florida, the United States Middle District Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the United States Claims Court. He is recognized as a board-certified Civil Trial Lawyer by the Florida Bar and has achieved an AV rating from the Martindale-Hubbell (its highest rating and a rating by one’s peers).

Lance is a member of the Florida Justice Association and has served as past chair of the Florida Bar Grievance Committee, past chair of the Florida Bar Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee, and past vice-chair of the 10th Judicial Circuit Bench Bar Committee. Lance is a member of Polk County Trial Lawyers Association where he has served as Secretary and Vice President, Tampa Bay Trial Lawyers Association, and the Lakeland Bar Association.

Lance has achieved many multimillion dollar verdicts in Florida, including a fiercely contested trial in July 2007 for which the jury awarded in excess of $43 million. He is also a member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Lance is happily married to Mia Holden, a lifelong resident of Winter Haven, and the proud father of two children, Spencer and Paige.

Lance is involved in numerous community activities including the Praise Band at Grace Lutheran Church in Winter Haven; past president of the Lake Region Rotary Club; past vice-president of Polk Community College Alumni Association; and former board member of the Girls Club of Winter Haven. He has also coached multiple youth sports teams in Polk County.

Lance’s primary areas of practice are wrongful death, personal injury, and professional malpractice. He has proven to be a highly successful trial attorney who will aggressively and skillfully fight injustice.
