About Matthew Weston Peaire

Matthew W. Peaire is the Hiring Partner at Butler Pappas. Matt received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Florida in 1996 and Doctor of Jurisprudence from Stetson University College of Law in 2000.  He also received his Masters of Business Administration from Stetson University School of Business in 2000.

  While in law school Matt clerked as a judicial intern for Judge David Demers and received a scholarship for his activities in the community. He is admitted to practice in all Florida courts, as well as in the Federal Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Florida. In addition to practicing throughout Florida, Matt has handled cases in Alabama, Arkansas, California, Iowa, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland , Mississippi, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.

  Matt's practice focuses on large, complex subrogation claims, where he represents both plaintiffs and defendants. In addition to subrogation matters, Matt handles claims relating to cyber losses involving both coverage and liability disputes.  He is also a frequent lecturer and author on a variety of legal topics relating to both subrogation and cyber losses.

Matt has been lead counsel on numerous jury trials involving such matters. He is also a frequent lecturer and author on a variety of legal topics relating to litigation and subrogation.  Matt is a member of the National Associate of Subrogation Professional (NASP), Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section (TTIPS) of the American Bar Association; and the Hillsborough County Bar Association.

 He was the General Track Leader for the 2011 NASP Annual Convention and nd served as the NASP Florida Chapter Chair from 2007-2010. Matt is currently serving as a committee member to the NASP Membership Committee.
