MEET MICHAEL J. BARBARETTE Co-Founder of Barbarette & Quirk With Over 3 Decades of Experience Michael Barbarette graduated from Florida Atlantic University in 1984 with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and from the University of Florida College of Law in 1987 with his law degree. After being admitted to the Florida Bar in 1988, Mike remained in Gainesville and began handling criminal defense and other legal matters.

During his legal career, Mike has represented hundreds of people against DUI charges and in other types of criminal cases, ranging from simple misdemeanors to DUI manslaughter. He is familiar with all phases of criminal defense as well as matters related to driver license suspensions, which are always part of any DUI case.

Mike continually monitors new developments in DUI and criminal law and maintains contact with other lawyers around the state who handle DUI cases. Since 1999, he has lectured at DUI defense seminars sponsored by Lorman Education Services and by the Florida Bar. His talks are assigned to help attorneys learn important skills and strategies for defending DUI cases.

Mike lives in Gainesville with his wife and daughters.
