About Paul Patton Drake

I was born in St. Petersburg, Florida and raised in Leesburg, Florida, where I graduated from First Academy of Leesburg as valedictorian in 2007. After graduation from high school, I followed in the family tradition and attended the Florida State University, spending a large amount of my time representing the College of Arts and Sciences as a student representative in the FSU Student Government Association.

In 2011, I graduated from the Florida State University magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy, History, and a minor in Spanish. I stayed the course and attended the Florida State University College of Law and graduated in 2014.In the summer in between my first and second year of law school, I began work as a law clerk for Disney Sports in their Legal Department, assisting in the drafting of complex contracts, waivers, and compliance memorandums for various departments of Disney Sports.

This clerkship also included extensive research on the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) in order to ensure active compliance for Disney’s ESPN Wide World of Sports. Later in law school, I gained experience on the administrative side of the law as a law clerk for the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, Construction Industry Licensing Board.

I subsequently clerked for the Department of Environmental Protection in the Defense Division. Both governmental clerkships allowed me to gain significant knowledge and experience related to the administrative side of Florida law.I joined the law firm of Grossman, Furlow, and Bayó as a law clerk, and became an associate shortly thereafter.

I currently assist in the representation of professional licensees and regulated entities in front of several professional boards, which include the boards of Veterinary Medicine, Chiropractic Medicine, Osteopathic Medicine, Dentistry, Engineering, and others. I also assist in the presentation of laws and rules continuing education seminars, as well as ethics continuing education seminars.
