About Rachel Elise Fugate

I handle a wide variety of litigation and appellate matters, including commercial litigation matters and contract disputes. I have litigated many cases resulting in published appellate opinions and appeared before a number of Florida’s District Courts of Appeal, the Florida Supreme Court and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.

My practice also handles all aspects of media law, including providing pre-broadcast and pre-publication review and advice, protecting journalists from subpoenas, defending against defamation, privacy and other content-related claims, and prosecuting actions for access to judicial and governmental records and proceedings.

I have argued several media matters in federal and state trial and appellate courts throughout Florida. Areas of focus: Defamation, Privacy and Content-Related Defense, Prebroadcast and Prepublication Review, Access to Public Records and Public Meetings, First Amendment and Constitutional Law, Litigation, Appellate Law.
