Mr Robles practices bankruptcy, commercial litigation, real estate litigation, corporate/partnership disputes and personal injury matters in the state and federal courts at the trial and appellate levels. He served as the Founding President of the Puerto Rican Bar Association of Florida, Inc. in 2003.
Mr Robles is a graduate of Florida International University where he studied Management and International Business and received his Bachelors in Business Administration in 1993. At FIU, Mr Robles was a founding member of the Puerto Rican Students’ Association and the FIU Law Association. He was also active in the FIU Student Government Association where he served as a Senator and FIU Student Ambassador.
He received the Outstanding Student Leader Award for his service in 1990. In 1990, Mr Robles worked with the Office of the Vice Provost of Florida International University assisting faculty with facilitating sponsored research projects. In 1992 after Hurricane Andrew devastated South Dade, Mr Robles began the Strategic Emergency Business Assistance Center (SEBAC), a coordinated project with Florida International University and Blue Cross/Blue Shield, where Mr Robles assisted businesses damaged by Hurricane Andrew by providing post-hurricane strategic market studies and long-term strategic planning.
In this capacity, he served as an advisor to the Community Advisory Task Force, a member of the Homestead/Florida City OEDP Steering Committee and an ad hoc member of the Greater Miami Visitors’ and Convention Bureau. He assisted with the creation of the Economic Recovery Issues and Suggested Solutions document and the Dade County Economic Recovery Short-Term Plan.
He received the United States Surgeon General Antonia Novello’s Certificate of Appreciation for his service in 1993. Also in 1993, Mr Robles worked with Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith assisting financial consultants with preparation of market analysis. In 1994, Mr Robles served as a legal intern in the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in which he prepared pre-LODs and substantial weight reviews.
In 1995, Mr Robles served as the Law Clerk for Jersey Central Power & Light, a General Public Utilities (GPU) subsidiary, where he dealt with federal electric utility regulation. He authored the article Deregulation of the Electric Utility Industry: A Catalyst for Consolidation analyzing the stock market trends resulting from deregulation and projected M&A activity.
Mr Robles attended Seton Hall University School of Law in New Jersey and obtained Juris Doctor in 1996. In 1998, Mr Robles started his law firm, the Law Offices of Richard R. Robles, P.A. Mr Robles has been a member of The Florida Bar since 1996. He is admitted to practice in the U.S. Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Florida, the U.
S. District Court of Puerto Rico, the U.S. District Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Mr Robles is a past-member of the American Bar Association, Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, Latin American Law Students Association, Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the World Trade Centers Association, League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) and Society for the Advancement of Management.
He is an active member of the Puerto Rican Chamber of Commerce of South Florida, the Federal Bar Association Honorable Raymond L. Acosta Puerto Rico Chapter, Columbus Lawyers Alumni Society, The Florida Bar Business Law Section, Bankruptcy Bar Association of Florida and a founding member of the Honduran International Chamber of Commerce.
Mr Robles also formerly served as the Chairperson of The Florida Bar, Grievance Committee in 2012. He has been a member of Attorneys' Title Insurance Fund since 1998 and is a Florida Licensed Real Estate Sales Associate. Mr Robles has litigated many cases in both the state and federal courts.
