About Sam Talbot Steger

I was hired by the firm of McRoberts, Warner, Fox & Seeley when I graduated from law school in 1979. The McRoberts, Warner firm split while I was studying for the Bar and I joined the senior partner in the firm known as McRoberts & Steger, P.A.  My initial experience at this firm included representation of Stuart National Bank which became Florida National Bank, First Union National Bank, Wachovia National Bank and eventually Wells Fargo National Bank, as well as developers and individual clients.

My representation of the bank included residential and commercial loan closings, bank contracts and collections and representation of the trust department.  My office was located in the bank building across from the Martin County Courthouse for twenty-five (25) years. As the banking industry evolved through mergers and related issues, my practice gradually transitioned more to representation of families in wills, trusts, estates, real property and business law and related litigation.

My wife, Karen, joined me in 1988 and, since that time, the firm has been known as Steger & Steger, P.A.  We moved into our own office building in 2005 and our oldest daughter, Lori, joined us in 2006 after she graduated from law school. In addition to Lori, we have three other children including Lynn who is a writing professor at Columbia in New York, Kara who is an attorney in New York City and Scott who is an investment banker in London.

The entire family, other than myself, are accomplished distance runners.
