Sean A. Mickley is a member of the firm’s Business & Construction Litigation and Personal Injury Groups, where he concentrates on complex and compelling matters involving commercial, construction, real property and personal injury litigation. A native Floridian, Sean A. Mickley was born in Miami, raised in Vero Beach, and graduated from the University of Florida in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in Criminology.
In 2010, he graduated from Barry University School of Law with honors. While at Barry, Mr Mickley was a member of the award-winning Moot Court Honors Board, served as the Head Teaching Assistant for Barry’s Legal Research and Writing program, and achieved a Book Award in Motions and Depositions. Prior to graduation, Mr Mickley had the pleasure of working as a Summer Associate with Gould Cooksey Fennell.
After graduating law school, Mr Mickley accepted a position with a law firm in Orlando, Florida, where he practiced exclusively in commercial and construction litigation, representing clients in both the public and private sectors. In addition to his practical experience, Mr Mickley is a published author on construction law-related matters in Florida Bar publications.
He co-authored Chapter 7: “Bids, Bid Disputes, and Competitive Negotiations Involving Public Entities” of The Florida Bar Construction Law and Practice Manual, 7th Edition. Additionally, he recently authored an article titled “ The Five Most Troublesome Contract Provisions on Private Construction Projects” published in the Florida Bar’s Fall 2014 ActionLine publication Mr Mickley is an active and involved member of the The Florida Bar, American Bar Association, and Indian River County Bar Association.
He is also a member of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of The Florida Bar, where he currently serves as the Chair of the Publications Subcommittee on the Construction Law Committee, and is a member of the Treasure Coast Builders Association. Through his work, he strives to help people protect themselves and their assets in difficult construction law matters.
