He received his B.A. degree from the University of Florida and his J.D. degree from Santa Clara University School of Law.

Prior to joining Walton, Lantaff, Schroeder and Carson, Mr Kaufer was employed as in-house counsel with Association Risk Management Services, a multi-state workers' compensation third party administrator headquartered in Lake Wales, Florida. His practice focused primarily on workers' compensation law as well as statutory compliance with various states.

Mr Kaufer is also a Presidential appointee to the local Selective Service board and is a certified Guardian Ad Litem.
