Vanessa Palacio is a seasoned attorney who focuses her practice on bet-the-company, intellectual property, technology, equine law, and life sciences matters. She has been listed in Florida Super Lawyers “Rising Stars” and The Best Lawyers in America “Ones to Watch”. She has deep experience in virtually all aspects of litigation on complex, high-stakes cases involving diverse issues and also handles matters related to commercial and civil litigation, as well as business, internet, domain name, construction, and cross-border disputes.

Vanessa has first and second-chaired trials in a wide range of cases and knows the importance of tailoring litigation strategies to suit individual clients and circumstances. She has prepared fact and expert witnesses for deposition and trial and has taken and defended numerous depositions. Vanessa has also researched, drafted, and argued motions in state and federal court, negotiated and drafted settlement agreements, and handled mediations, arbitrations, appeals, and extraordinary writ petitions.

A South Florida native, Vanessa earned her juris doctor, summa cum laude, at the University of Miami, where she was inducted into Alpha Epsilon Lambda Graduate Honors Fraternity and received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Marine Ecology and the Law. She also earned her bachelor’s degree with a triple major in Biology, English Literature, and Political Science from the University of Miami on a full scholarship.

Vanessa enjoys baking, snorkeling, fishing, attending comic cons, and watching classic movies and sports—particularly if her beloved Miami Hurricanes are playing. She also enjoys spending time with her corgi, Truffle.
